Harassment & Stalking
In July 1995, Tim Lawson-Cruttenden acted as Advocate in the Court of Appeal case of Burris v Azadani which arguably created the civil tort of harassment. This expertise was utilised to draft the Stalking Bill 1996. Although not formally enacted by Parliament, many of the terms of the Bill were incorporated into the Protection from Harassment Act 1997. Tim also acted as the Opposition Advisor on the drafting of this Act.
Since 1995 this firm has obtained a number of injunctions for private clients who have been stalked and suffered from harassment.
