Arthur Timothy Lawson-Cruttenden

Tim is a highly reputable and well-known solicitor-advocate specialising in the areas of harassment and courts martial law.
Tim qualified as a Solicitor in 1979 and he was one of the first solicitors to gain rights of audience in the Higher Courts in 1994. In 1994 Tim was one of the founding members of the Solicitors’ Association of Higher Court Advocates and was appointed its Chairman in 2007.
Tim is recognised as one of the leading experts in the highly specialised and niche area of harassment law and has been one of the most pioneering and innovative lawyers in this field. Tim co-drafted the Stalking Bill 1996 and subsequently drafted the Opposition amendments to the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
Tim’s counsel has been sought by a number of major national and international businesses as well as Police forces from across the United Kingdom (please see the Key Cases section of our website for more details). In addition to this Tim is the co-author of Blackstone’s Guide to the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 and Harassment Law and Practice.
Tim has been asked to help draft Private Members’ Bills which have included the Stalking Bill 1996 (as mentioned above) and the Restraining Orders Bill 1999. Tim also drafted the Safety Deposit Current Account Bill 2008.
In 2004 Tim was voted one of the Lawyer Magazine’s Top 100 Lawyers in England and Wales. In 2006 Tim was appointed Chairman of the Old Harrovian Law Society.
Tim was a Short Service Limited Commission Officer in the Blues & Royals and has a keen interest in military life. In 1992 Tim was appointed Honorary Legal Advisor to the Blues & Royals and conducts pro bono consultation work on behalf of serving members of the Regiment. Tim’s second area of expertise is courts martial law and Tim has been asked to conduct courts martial throughout the United Kingdom and Germany.
Tim’s interests and hobbies include running marathons , riding, writing, military history and Gibraltar.
